The Association offers different Categories of Membership.
Ordinary Member – Ordinary Membership of the Association is open to persons with M.A. in social sciences and/or to persons interested in the advancement of Asian & Pacific studies and paying an ordinary membership fee along with an admission fee. The introduction of a new member however will be finalized subject to approval of the Executive Committee. A person may become a member at any time of the year although the annual subscription of a member shall become due on the 1st April of each year. A member failing to pay the annual subscription by the end of March following shall cease to be a member.
Life Member – Any person paying the life membership fees may be admitted as a Life Member of the Association.
Student Member – Any student not below the level of undergraduate standard taking interest in Asian / Pacific Studies and paying the student membership fee and admission fee can be admitted as a student member. He/she should produce documentary proof about his/her status as a student.
Honorary Member – Any person whose connection with the Association is deemed to be necessary may be elected as Honorary Member of the Association. However he/ she will not be eligible to be member of the Executive Committee nor shall be entitled to vote at any meeting.
Outstation Indian members are requested to send their membership fees by M.O/ Bank Draft to the Secretary. No Outstation Cheque is accepted. Outstation Foreign members are requested to contact the Secretary for details about remittance of their membership fees.
Rights and Privileges of the Members of the Association :
1. A member ( life/ ordinary / student ) will be able to participate and present papers in the
Seminar/ Conference of the Association and the paper will be published in the proceeding volumes of the Seminar/ Conference subject to approval of the Editorial Board.
2. A member will be able to present and participate in the occasional discussion / lecture / seminar / symposia programmes.
3. A member will get publications of the Association at a concessional rate.
4. A member will be able to approach the Association to extend him / her a platform for social science oriented research projects, pertaining to the objectives and scope of the Association. Such facility however will be extended subject to approval of the Executive Committee of the Association. Members will be able to get information about academic network of the Association.
